An astrophotographer stitched together more than 81,000 images to create one of the clearest images of the Moon ever captured.
The final image, built from 700GB of data and shot over four nights, reveals the Moon’s surface in stunning detail, from deep craters to sharp mountain ridges illuminated by the sun.
The final image, captured using a Celestron NexStar 8SE and a Canon EOS 1200D, comes in at a whopping 159.7 megapixels.
This is a remarkable look at how much detail can be extracted from the night sky with patience, precision, and the right setup.
