DIG Ajith Rohana speaking at the National Operations Center for Preventing COVID-19stressed on the importance for the general public to act responsibly during the coming days.
He said in the areas where the curfew was relaxed this week, Sri Lanka Police deployed its personnel in civil attire and it was observed, the general public failed to follow social distancing guidelines.
Other than the curfew now in force in the Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara and Puttalam Districts the curfew enforced at 8.00 pm on Friday (24) will be enforced until 5.00 am on Monday (27).
This was revealed in the latest curfew report. Accordingly, the curfew imposed in the Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara and Puttalam areas has been extended until 5.00 am on Monday (27).
For the rest of the districts, the curfew which will be imposed at 8.00 pm on Friday (24) will continue to be in force until Monday (27) 5.00 am.
Accordingly, the curfew in all these districts will not be lifted during the weekend. In the Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara and Puttalam Districts no one will be allowed to leave or enter these districts. However, the conditions put in place for the farmers and those engaged in agricultural activities remain the same.
